Game Of Thrones Season 8: Did Maisie Williams Reveal 2019 Release Date?
Winter is coming. In Spring.
It's one of the great tragedies of art in 2018 that we won't get to see a new season of Game Of Thrones. But that's the cost of HBO making each of the last six episodes - all of which are apparently going to make us cry, if the cast's reactions to the scripts is anything to go by - a feature film in itself. And the pay-off should be just about worth the wait.
Plus, Friends is on Netflix and you can always just binge that a few times or something.
Anyway, the release date for the show has so far been set as merely 2019, but there may now be some indication of just when in that year we'll see the debut, thanks to Maisie Williams.
She spoke to Metro UK and seemingly let slip the fact that it will be released in Spring and in the same monthly slot most of the seasons landed in:
We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.

If that's true, Williams might be in slight trouble with HBO, but the revelation does somewhat contradict the fact that Liam Cunningham said that filming is only running into summer 2018. An April 2019 release from that sort of schedule would be far more believable (but then maybe Ser Davos only makes it partway through filming?)
HBO hasn’t offered comment yet, but April really doesn't sound too far-fetched...
