He's had a reprieve, but that's because dying in a cell from a disease is not a fitting end for Jorah. His entire arc has been intrinsically linked to Daenerys, and it's for her he'll die. It even looked like it might happen in Season 7, but with the final battles now about to go down, the stage is set for Jorah to make the ultimate sacrifice for his khaleesi, even if it might ultimately be in vain.
