Game Of Thrones Season 8: Ranking Every Character Worst To Best

4. Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion Lannister has become something of an idiot. That much has been clear for the last few seasons, where he's done very little but drink and not really know all of that much, but Season 8 was the first time he really started getting called out on it.

That proved to be a good move for his character. Peter Dinklage got the most material to play with this year that he's had in a long time, and he reminded us all of why he's won the most awards of any actor on the show, especially nailing the quiet, more emotional beats, such as those with Sansa or Jaime.

We find a Tyrion who still tries to do what he believes is best for the realm, who witnesses the downfall of the woman he serves in the worst way possible, and ultimately is the man who takes it upon himself to make a real, serious change in Westeros. He may not want to be Hand of the King, but there's no one better suited to the role, and this year was the first since he left Westeros that we really got a sense of the great character of old.

All of the major changes that end up happening in the endgame are because of him, proving once again that a very small man can cast a very large shadow, as his best friend once said.
