In any other season, this would have been the climax, but for Thrones it was just the pre-show to the main event.

That doesn't mean that the stakes were in any way impaired or that we didn't see some huge changes to this universe. On the contrary, The Long Night killed off some pretty big characters and fundamentally changed the entire make-up of Dany and Jon's alliance as they prepare to face Cersei in the War for the Iron Throne.

Don't worry, neither Ghost nor Rhaegal are dead. They both appear in the trailer for episode 4. No matter how much the episode did the "Tormund trick" of pretending they were definitely dead to add to the peril of the scenes they were supposed to have died in.

Ghost was just sidelined (because, remember, direwolves are too expensive apparently) after running into the first wave of the battle and not reappearing with Jorah Mormont and then Rhaegal crash landed. But since both are in that trailer, there's no need to lose too much sleep over them.
