Game Of Thrones: 10 Things That Could Kill A Giant

By Sam Heard /

10. Dire Wolves

A Dire Wolf is to a wolf what a Giant is to a man. Roughly the size of a horse, a full-grown Dire Wolf is around twice the size of its real life counterpart while a 12-14 foot Giant is double the size of a very large man. Though both the fantastical creatures from the northern wastes of Westeros are incredibly fearsome, we have to say that a wolf is more dangerous than a man, so by extension a Dire Wolf could defeat a Giant. Defined by their ferocity, razor-sharp teeth and blistering speed, Dire Wolves are quite rightly some of the most feared creatures in the north, despite the Stark€™s proving that they could be tamed to a degree. Though the immeasurable strength of a Giant would be more than enough to kill a Dire Wolf if they got ahold of one, we believe that the agility and swiftness of the Stark€™s sigil creature would allow them to avoid the Giant€™s clumsy attacks and to grab onto a limb with those terrifying jaws. Indeed, even compared to worldly wolves€™ teeth, Dire Wolf fangs are described as being proportionately far larger. Having grabbed a limb the Dire Wolf would be able to rag-doll the Giant to the ground using all that explosive muscular power before mauling it to death in the savage style the show€™s creators are so fond of.
