Like most HBO shows, Game of Thrones only has 10 episodes to work with each season. This works to their advantage by eliminating filler episodes and getting straight to the point in storylines. But, as with every TV show, not every episode is guaranteed to be action-packed or exciting. Even though a few people died in Mockingbird (some more important than others), it wasnt as exciting as some of the episodes weve seen earlier, such as The Lion and the Rose or The Laws of Gods and Men. However, dont think this means the episode wasnt important. On the contrary, it sets up the last three episodes for what's sure to be a grandstanding finish. Every season has presented game changing events, but its clear that the status quo in season 4 is shifting dramatically. Tyrion has been framed for a crime he didnt commit, Daenerys finally has land to rule, Sansa has been rescued by her mothers former admirer, Jon and the men of the Nights Watch are readying to fight the wildlings, etc. Things are changing fast, and "Mockingbird" accomplished its job of taking these events to the next level for the last episodes of season 4.
