This article contains some big SPOILERS, mostly related to the latest episode, but also a little something related to the adaptation from the books on which the series is based (nothing beyond the latest episode). After the long and arduous ordeal of Tyrion€™s arrest and subsequent trial for the murder of King Joffrey (which seems like a long time ago), we now have a conclusion and know what the fates have decided for the imp with nine lives. It seems Tyrion€™s luck has finally run its course, as his voluntary champion, Prince Oberyn, failed spectacularly to prevent the bookkeepers favoured outcome of defeat in the much hyped trial-by-combat. Prince Oberyn fought with great skill and flair, but in the end, he was unable to deliver the fatal blow to the Mountain, Ser Gregor Clegane, whose brute strength proved more than a match for the human skull. All of this means that Tyrion will now face the dire prospect of a summary execution, and there€™s no way he€™s going to talk his way out of it. In other developments, Arya and the Hound finally arrive at the Eyrie to unexpected news, whilst Sansa comes into her own in defence of a cornered Littlefinger. In the north, Ygritte and the Wildling raiding party edge ever closer to the Wall and the desperately vulnerable Castle Black, whilst in the east, Ser Jorah€™s espionage comes back to haunt him. With only two episodes of the season remaining, we€™re delving into the business end of things with this week€™s winners and losers.
