Game Of Thrones - No Bran Or Hodor In Series 5!
The fifth series of the HBO fantasy-epic will be minus two much loved characters.
Hollywood Life. Viewers last saw Bran and his friends visit the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven, but will be kept waiting to see what happens next. In an interview with Australian Broadcasting Commission, Hodor actor Kristian Nairn dished the dirt on his one-word character and dropped the mother of all bombshells when he let slip that both he and Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays the crippled son of Ned Stark, will be absent from the fifth season. He said:
Fans hoping to see Bran Stark fly in the fifth series of Game of Thrones will have to wait because neither he nor companion Hodor will feature in the next 10 episodes of the HBO fantasy epic, according to Were not actually in Season Five, by the way. We have a season off. We have a years hiatus.This will come as a massive blow to fans who were left salivating by the upcoming Children of the Forest storyline, which was originally thought to be a major plot in series 5. TV show viewers and readers alike however will know each episode and book are split between varying characters, and it appears as though we've come to the end of Bran's story arch - for now. Nairn confirmed as much, adding:
Solely because, I imagine, our storyline is up to the end of the books. So I get a year off now to do Rave of Thrones and gallivant all over the world.Nairn is being serious by the way. Rave of Thrones is actually a thing. The actor also revealed what it's like to play Hodor, and compared it to panto. "People say 'Right, you've only got one line, you've either got the hardest job in the show, or you've got the easiest job'," he added.
"You have to tread that line because you don't want to do your huge panto reactions in the background, you have to be subtle and real. It's challenging and sometimes I have to snap myself back around afterwards."
