The New Year heralds the return of Game of Thrones, though we still have an astonishingly long four months to wait until it€™s finally back on our screens. With production having now wrapped on the fifth season of HBO€™s hugely popular fantasy show an influx of tantalising images and trailers surely awaits fans. Though post-production will continue over the coming months everything to occur in season five has been set in stone. All new characters have been cast and confirmed, though many rumours continue to amount upon the web. In anticipation of the new season this list explores the most intriguing casting information released thus far. This article will only explore those which have been confirmed, so characters such as Maggy the Frog, Varamyr Sixskins and €œImogen€ (reportedly a younger Cersei Lanister) won€™t be discussed. Though, they probably will appear in some capacity. Many fan favourite characters have been confirmed to appear in the upcoming season, which seems to be heavily based in Dorne. As such many of Oberyn Martell€™s bastard daughters and kin will appear to welcome Myrcella Baratheon back to the fold, though interestingly not all of them will pop up. Furthermore this list will look at castings which hint towards exciting stories (i.e. that€™s what makes their casting intriguing) and new characters altogether. It€™s going to be another crowded season in Westeros. Click next to find out who made the list.
