Games Of Thrones Season 6: 9 Clues From "The Broken Man" Trailer

Burn them all!

By Simon Gallagher /

HBO

Bloody hell, was that a Game Of Thrones episode without a single - even inconsequential background - death? It's like they forgot the blood lust that's ran rampant through the sixth season and just decided to focus on story building. And for all the accusations that it wasn't a great episode, you're a lunatic if you think it was anything less than very good.

After all, exposition has to happen, or we're basically just watching stabby action porn. And Spartacus Blood And Sand already covered that.

Next time, we're obviously going to see some follow-on from Sansa and Jon rallying the remaining Northern bannermen, Arya's betrayal of Jaqen (FINALLY!!) and the new royal alliance with the church. But that's not the half of it, as the teaser trailer confirms.

It would appear we're going to get at least two more returns (hopefully three), two new supporting characters in the North, the first hints of war, plotting, vengeance and Tormund the bad-ass. All good material.

Here's the teaser...

9. The Blackfish Returns...

HBO

How obsessed are HBO with trailers that have doors opening? It's an epidemic.

After too many seasons, the legendary Blackfish returns, no doubt still stinging a lot from the Red Wedding and from seeing his family home taken by the Freys as a final insult.

He doesn't exactly look very happy...

HBO

With the Freys determined to recover Riverrun, Cersei keen to show the might of the Lannister army, and Blackfish stoic in his resistance, it would appear we're going to a pretty embedded seige. Good, it's about time the scale changed to include some actual war instead of everyone killing each other face to face.

it's quite wonderful how scared the Freys appear to be of him.
