Michonne is a badass, closest-thing-to-a-ninja, silent warrior in the TV show, and shares a lot of similarities to her character in the comic, including with her appearance. She struck up relationships with two members of the group, showing more of an emotional side at times during the comic books, though she is still largely distant to many people even if she is always striving to help the group any way she can with he sword at her side.
