Gotham: 10 Things We Learned From The New Trailer

8. Ladies And Gentlemen, Harvey Bullock!

Gordon and Bruce aside, Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) receives the most screen time during the trailer as Gordon€™s new partner. This will be the first time Bullock is depicted in a live action sense (finally), introducing the character to Batman fans who don€™t read the comics. In those comics, Harvey Bullock is a constantly changing character. He originally starts off as a corrupt cop tasked with sabotaging Gordon€™s attempts to clean up the department. He was most prominent in Batman: The Animated Series, where he played a tough, reckless but clean cop who openly disagreed with Gordon€™s partnership with Batman. After this adaption, Bullock became more well known and made more frequent appearances in the comics, but without his villainous tendencies. Bullock comes across as a decent cop, hard as nails, but with a mean streak and a determination to deal with criminals at any cost. Gordon is new to Gotham and its ways, and Bullock is preparing him to take on its worst criminals. Bullock tells Gordon €œthe city isn€™t for nice guys€ and it seems that Bullock has his own, not always orthodox ways of dealing with criminals.
