Gotham: 12 Early Batman Moments That Must Be Adapted

10. Bruce Swears Vengeance

Emotionally scarred, it wasn€™t enough for Bruce to just grieve for his parents: one night, Bruce made a solemn vow to avenge Thomas and Martha€™s deaths and dedicate his life to fighting evil and protecting others. This moment influenced the rest of Bruce€™s life and led him down the path that would result in his donning the cape and cowl and becoming a force of terror against criminals everywhere. Depending on the source material, Bruce€™s decision either came directly after his parents€™ murder or when he was a young adult, and it would be good to see Gotham go the young boy route from the comics. It€™s a little cheesy, but it would be cool if they recreated the scene of Bruce praying at his bedside with the candle producing ominous shadows, but this scene shouldn€™t take place directly after Thomas and Martha€™s murder - the show needs to build up to it within the first season. Give Bruce an opportunity to learn more about the crime epidemic that plagues Gotham City, of what Carmine Falcone in Batman Begins called €œthe ugly side of life.€ He€™ll realize that this is not something that has only affected him, but ruins other people's lives as well, and by the first season finale, he€™ll be ready to take the first step towards his destiny of becoming The Dark Knight.
