The latest episode, Sons Of The Harpy, included the first real tease of the R+L=J theory. The biggest is a scene with Sansa and Petyr Baelish in the crypt at Winterfell where Littlefinger recounts the tale of the tourney in which Rhaegar chose Lyanna over his own wife. Sansa responds by saying that he then kindapped and raped her, which Baelish does not respond to, indicating that (as usual) he may know more than he lets on. Next we see Ser Barristan Selmy regale tales of Rhaegar to Daenerys. The knight speaks extremely highly of the former prince, and recounts how he used to love singing songs, not fighting, and would donate money to the people and orphanages. For someone like Ser Barristan to speak so highly of Rhaegar suggests a lot about his character. In a conversation at The Wall between Stannis and his wife, Selyse, she refers to Jon Snow as a bastard by some tavern slut. Staines responds: Perhaps, but that wasnt Ned Starks way. While this doesnt suggest that Stannis knows anything, it does reinforce how unlikely it is that Ned would have broken his honour, and shows the series directly questioning Jons parentage. To have just one of these scenes could have perhaps been dismissed as coincidence or a mere filling in of backstory, but for all three to occur within the episode suggests the series is either dropping a massive hint, especially as its set to overtake the books, or playing one of the biggest trolls seen on TV.
