5. It Might Be The Funniest Season
The show has always been a fountain of pithy wit, but the new season just might be the most outwardly funny. Tonally, it does a great job of making Washington an explosive battlefield while also inherently poking fun at the absurdity of it all.

It helps that most of the characters are themselves much smarter and better-spoken than just about anyone in reality, trading Aaron Sorkin-esque barbed insults that will have viewers at once admiring the ingenuity of them and laughing at the sheer savagery.
Whether or not this is a creative change-up with the departure of original showrunner Beau Willimon, the laughs come thick, fast and brutal this season, and the show's all the better for it.
