How I Met Your Mother: The Best Episode From Every Season
4. Season 6: Glitter
The second Robin Sparkles episode on this list, Glitter follows the gang as they watch Space Teens, the Canadian kids show from which Robin Sparkles originates. The show is surprisingly dirty for a kids show, which causes Ted and Barney to laugh hysterically, which upsets a protective Robin.
Lily freaks out upon seeing the show, as she discovers that, before her, Robin had a best friend named Jessica Glitter, to whom she no longer speaks. Lily figures out that this is because Glitter had a baby. When Lily, who often talks about her plans to have a baby, confronts Robin about this, they have a big fight.
Marshall ends this fight by introducing Lily to Jessica Glitter herself. Glitter tells Lily that Robin didn't stop being friends with her because of her child, she stopped being friends with Robin because of how demanding it is to raise a child. At this, Lily feels bad, and makes up with Robin.
The episode ends with a celebration at the Hoser Hut, a Canadian themed bar at which Robin is a regular, where Robin and Glitter reunite and sing their song from Space Teens, Two Beavers are Better than One (about the animal, much to Ted and Barney's disbelief.)
Not only are the dirty kids show jokes really funny, Glitter also reestablishes how much Robin and Lily love each other. The two rarely have an episode together in the spotlight, so seeing Glitter focus on them was a nice change of pace. This is why Glitter outshines other Season 6 gems, like Subway Wars, Blitzgiving, Oh Honey, and the emotional duo that is Bad News and Last Words.
