4. The Romance Is Totally Unnecessary

Marvel just can't help themselves, can they? Nobody is watching these movies and shows for the love stories, but they just have to throw in superfluous and unconvincing romances regardless.

In this case, it's the predictable and needless love story between Danny and Colleen Wing, which runs counter to their largely platonic relationship in much of the source material.

It just feels like Marvel ticking a box to satisfy executives, because focus groups tell them people like a side order of romance alongside their action.

In actual fact it seems fairly forced, and way too much screen time is devoted to this, even though it doesn't do a whole lot to evolve the pair as characters. Speaking of which...
