It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: 10 Most Insane Fan Theories

Pepe Silvia probably came up with all of these!

This show is an incredibly creative property. With the series having run for fourteen seasons, it really must be a challenge for the writers to keep coming up with such outlandish and absurd material. But they have certainly succeeded, as the series has felt fresh and wild throughout its entire existence and gets even crazier as it continues.

Always Sunny has a die-hard fan base who love to obsess over the little details and analyse all of the running jokes to figure out hidden meanings. In many cases, the fans are just as creative as the actual showrunners as the content that they generate from what we are given is nothing short of insane.

Despite how ridiculous some of these theories are, they actually could have some serious merit when it comes to the truth of the show. This is purely because the story is a rather grotesque and nonsensical anyway. Thus even the more unbelievable ideas could somehow find their way into being part of the show's canon.

All fans know basic theories, such as the real identity of Nikki Potnick, the true story behind the Nightman and Dennis being a killer, but here are some of the most insane concepts out there.

10. Charlie Really Is Actually Paddy's Smartest Employee

We start with a relatively tame one compared to the rest of the theories. This dictates the motion that despite the evidence the show has to prove to the contrary, Charlie Kelly isn't only not as dumb as we think, but secretly could be a genius.

This plays into the idea that his raw natural intelligence was never seized upon as he was uneducated and grew up in poverty. But had he been raised being taught to read and write then we would have a Good Will Hunting situation on our hands.

The evidence for this is surprisingly abundant, as despite being considered to be the least intelligent member of The Gang, he seems to be the one who makes all of the best decisions. He can play multiple instruments to a high level. He knew the best way to get a cat out of a wall, and even wrote an entire musical. Finally the character had a whole episode dedicated to his intelligence in Charlie Work.

Had Charlie grown up with the privileges that Dee and Dennis had it would be easy to see him in their position and visa-versa.
