It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 13: Every Episode Ranked Worst To Best

3. Mac Finds His Pride

Sometimes the biggest risks can reap the best results, and this episode is a perfect example of that. The episode takes time to include the classic gross-out humour that has become a staple of the show, satirises the outdated opinions on the gay community that Frank has, and then throws a curveball with a deeply emotional and affecting ending to wrap up this season like none other before it.

The episode is all about Frank trying to get Mac to dance on the Paddy's Pub gay pride float as the group's token gay man. However, Mac isn't feeling very proud, so Frank tries to get Mac out of his funk, first by taking him to an S&M club, then to a Drag Queen show, and finally, by trying to help Mac come out to his Dad.

This concept lets the humour flow for the first three quarters of the episode, but pulls a surprising and unexpected twist when Mac performs a powerful interpretative dance for his father and his fellow inmates. This is honestly the most moving moment in the entire series, and such a powerful message celebrating Mac, and truly developing his character in a fantastic manner.
