Last night Treme crept forward with it€™s usual restrained pace and attention to detail as the inhabitants of N€™Orleans continue with their own personal struggles as well as the troubles at large in the city. Each episode offers little snippets of story, personal agony and struggles from each character a little bit at a time. Last night€™s episode saw LaDonna get attacked and raped in her bar as she tried to fend off robbers. Toni got a whole lot closer to the truth behind the killing of the young man she has been investigating. Janette returned to the city after her house was burgled and Antoine struggled to get his new band playing the way he wants them to play. Each character soldiers on with their own personal story amongst the chaos left by Hurricane Katrina. As each of their own story moves forward and they try to get their lives on track it emphasises the problems within the city, the bungled way in which the city has dealt with the aftermath and the underlying problems that infect everyday life of N€™Orleans residents. Treme is a brutally honest and heartbreaking look at a city that seems to be forgotten by the outside world whilst those who cannot forget the tragedy that has ruined their lives, homes and city struggle to find a sense of normality. Treme is a beautifully tragic tale within which any personal triumph is linked directly to and marred by sorrow and sadness.
