The X-Men really need a new direction. Deadpool was hugely popular and looks set to followed up with plans to launch X-Force movies going forward. But, after the prequel trilogy petered out with X-Men: Apocalypse, it is unclear where this leaves Professor X. A New Mutants film is planned and rumours of a film titled X-Men

Much like Deadpool, Legion's different take on the X-Men looks like it will be a great way to expand the universe and allow for TV shows and movies that vary in tone and style from the blockbusters. This allows FOX to serve different audiences and explore new ideas that may not be welcomed when presented in a big-budget feature.
