Louis CK's 15 Most Disgustingly Hilarious Jokes

The jokes may be controversial as hell, but you laugh at them anyway.

Louis CK is a force to be reckoned with. Currently one of the most popular comedians on the planet, he takes life and all of its horrible realities and makes them absolutely and unapologetically hilarious. For Louis, life is a goldmine of comedic potential. Few comedians possess the charisma, talent, and perspective that Louis CK brings to each and every performance, which stands as a testament to the love and care he displays for his craft. His hilarity knows no bounds, and now even Hollywood is noticing. In addition to starring in FX's Louie, he made an appearance in David O. Russell's American Hustle, which enjoyed a number of nominations at the Golden Globes. There isn't a single tame joke in his arsenal, but my bet is that won't matter when you're laughing so hard you can't breathe. In honor of Louis CK's wildly successful career and his promising future in comedy, I've whipped up a list of his 15 most disgustingly hilarious jokes. Enjoy, and remember, everyone and everything is a target in Louis's world.

15. Fountains And Pedophiles

Many of Louis's jokes fit the 'disgustingly hilarious' description, so you can imagine how difficult it was to begin this list. After much consideration and reconsideration, I decided to kick off the list with his gut busting bit, 'Fountains and Pedophiles.' This joke showcases and relies on Louis's knack for character work, resulting in a joke that sees the comedian changing personalities and voices in the blink of an eye. Character work, if executed well, can be an extremely effective way to hook and please your audience, but it works two ways. If your character work feels jarring, out of place, or strikes the wrong chord, you'll lose your audience and possibly damage your career. Anyone who can confidently and jokingly spend 4 minutes talking about pedophiles building erotic fountains basically has complete control over any crowd. It's one of those things people think is funny, but won't openly admit it's funny. One of the most impressive aspects of Louis's material is and always has been the space he creates for his audience. Any discomfort his audience might experience will, at some point during one of his shows, be replaced by uncontrollable laughter.
