2. That Beard Though

There's a lot you can forgive in regards to MacGyver, but the beard that our hero sports in the first act of the episode is a step too far. It's not necessarily just that the beard looks fake (although from a certain angle it definitely didn't look authentic), but rather that it just doesn't gel with MacGyver.

Perhaps the deviation from his usual clean-shaven look was meant to be a literal representation of the change that Mac has undergone during the last few months since quitting his job, and if so then it deserves to be applauded, but the look just did not suit the character at all.
