10. The Whizzer (Episode 1, "AKA Start At The Beginning")
Things kick into an extremely silly but undeniably entertaining gear mid-way through the season's first episode, when Jess meets a man asking for protection, announcing himself to be a super-powered individual known as The Whizzer, real name Robert Coleman (Jay Klaitz).
The Whizzer's super-speed can only be activated by fear, which happens spectacularly when he confronts Jessica in her office, causing a box of her family's ashes to go flying into the air. He then speeds off - with hilariously kitschy visual effects to boot - before being killed by some suspicious falling scaffolding.
Though The Whizzer had only the briefest of screen time, he was a memorably goofy addition to this season, evoking a more heightened, traditionally comic book-y tone than this series is typically known for. Plus, he came up with the immortal line, "with great power comes great mental illness", so how can you not like him?
