Cage is the subject of the call-in, and it's a great mechanism for conveying public opinion of him without clunky exposition.

These clever understated cameos are very much the order of the day for Luke Cage as a show - nobody comes in to distract, instead there are simply hints at the fabric of the lived in shared universe.
