4. Returning Characters And New Additions

While there's no place for The Punisher's 'Man In The Chair' Micro from last season there are some familiar faces joining Frank Castle and Billy Russo in season 2, while other new characters will flesh out the cast further.

Chief amongst the returnees are Amber Rose Revah (as Homeland Security Agent Dinah Madani), and Jason R. Moore (as ex-marine and support group leader Curtis Hoyle). While there were mixed reactions to the character of Madani in season 1, her story was important as an honest authority figure who went from chasing Frank to allying with him to get justice. If nothing else we'll at least get to hear Bernthal's emphatic pronunciation of her surname again - something which is nearing the iconic nature of Idris Elba's shouts of 'Alice!' in Luther!

Curtis Hoyle, meanwhile, is likely to be a key player as when we last saw Frank Castle he was finally sitting down and taking an active part in Hoyle's ex-military support group. How will this have changed our hero?

Elsewhere we'll be introduced to a nefarious high profile power couple played by Corbin Bernsen and Annette O’Toole, while Frank will reportedly go on the run to protect Giorgia Whigham's street-smart teen. There are also hints that Daredevil's Karen Page might also put in an appearance, though how much we'll see of her may be limited as actress Deborah Ann Woll was shooting Daredevil S3 when The Punisher was also in production.
