Netflix's Defenders Teaser Hints At The Show's Big Villains
"You think the four of you can save New York?"
It's time to get HYPED for The Defenders!
Marvel and Netflix have just unveiled the first teaser for the ensemble show, which still has two individual strands to come before it can even get off the ground, and it's all very exciting.
The trailer - which doesn't include any new footage (obviously) - is a great little sizzle reel with a haunting, stripped bare version as Come As You Are (changing the entire meaning of that song quite wonderfully), and it's nice to have a reminder that this is genuinely happening...
Big bonus points for Stick's sarcastic challenge over the top there too.
And of course as the graphics strip off bits of paint, it becomes clear that there's a pretty big suggestion of who the Defenders are going to be facing.
Here's the big hint...
So The Hand then? It makes sense, even if it would have been nicer to see Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin leading some sort of criminal army. Presumably that will also happen.
There's also a very brief synopsis for the show: "Marvel's The Defenders will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, as they face their biggest threat yet." A GIANT SCARY HAND. I added that last bit myself.
