After nine years of sensational drama, excitement and romance, the emotional rollercoaster finally comes to end as One Tree Hill: Season 9 is out now on DVD and UltraViolet Digital Copy this week. As we prepare to say goodbye to the characters that we know and love, we decided to take a look back at the highs and lows of the past nine years in the place they call Tree Hill. Love is In the Air (and its complicated!) Through the years, the love lives of the Tree Hill residents have been complicated to say the least, with love triangles and cat fights making a regular appearance in the first few seasons. Best friends Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) spent years fighting over Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) who struggled to choose which girl he truly wanted. Nathan & Haley Always & Forever They say opposites attract, and that was definitely the case for Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) who fell for each other in Season 1, and went on to get married and have their first child as teenagers. Things werent always plain sailing for Naley and the couple experienced their fair share of ups and downs over the years.

The School Shooting - With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept The lives of the Tree Hill residents changed forever in Season 3 when Jimmy Edwards took a gun to school following the devastating revelations in the time capsule. Confused and depressed, Jimmy held his class-mates hostage, before killing himself in desperation. Another shock twist turns the groups lives upside down as a much-loved character said farewell to Tree Hill forever. Over the past nine years, the group have faced dangers and challenges that most of us will never come across (thankfully!). First came Derek in Season 4, Peytons fake long-lost brother turned stalker, who developed an unhealthy obsession with Peyton and went on to attack her and Brooke in a dramatic episode which brought the girls closer than ever before. Next came the unstable nanny Carrie who went crazy in Season 5 after Nathan rejected her advances. Having lost a child of her own, Carrie kidnapped Haley and Nathans son Jamie, convinced that he was really hers. Fast forward a couple of episodes and she was up to her old tricks again, this time kidnapping Lucas and Nathans Father, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson). Season 6 saw Brooke (Sophia Bush) attacked by Quentin Fields killer, Xavier, in her clothing store and then later terrorised by him in Season 9. Also in Season 9, Nathan found himself kidnapped by Eastern-European gangsters after he got embroiled in a turf-war over new athlete signings. Dreams Really Can Come True The Group Realise Their Potential Of course things werent all doom and gloom in Tree Hill, with the cast all going on to achieve their dreams Nathan became a professional basketball player, Haley a famous singer, Peyton started her own record label, Lucas had several books published and Brooke launched a successful fashion empire. Love Is In The Air I do... Everyone loves a good wedding, and that is definitely the case in Tree Hill. Throughout the years there has been numerous weddings including two for Naley! After eloping in Season 1, Nathan and Haley renewed their vows in a romantic ceremony watched by their friends and family in Season 3. In Season 6, Lucas found himself left at the alter by runaway bride Lindsey, who finally realised that his heart would always lie with Peyton. Shortly after this, Lucas finally got his girl and married Peyton in a beautiful outdoor ceremony only moments before she gave birth to their daughter. Season 8 saw Brooke get the family she had always dreamed of as she tied the knot with Julian (Austin Nichols).
