Orphan Black's first season surprised us all with its willingness to treat its science-fiction elements seriously and thoughtfully, so hopefully the second will answer some of the questions raised so far. Is there an original still around, and if so, who is she? Is there a link between Project Leda, shown prominently in the trailer, and Sarah's foster mother Mrs S? What was that DNA patent Cosima found in the final episode? Most of all, we want to know why the clones exist in the first place and who stands to gain from observing them into adulthood. Clones have been done to death in all forms of speculative fiction, so it's refreshing to see a series run with the concept with as much enthusiasm as Orphan Black. Long may it continue.
