8. John Abruzzi

John Abruzzi was an interesting character in the first season of Prison Break.

His mafia tactics inside Fox River were constantly at odds with Michael's better judgement, but Abruzzi was a necessary - and incredibly helpful - part of the escape plan.

He was the sort of villain that viewers could love, because he had a human side as well as a ruthless criminal mentality.

Despite his wealth and his implied experience at escaping the law, Abruzzi was the first of the Fox River 8 to be caught.

Seeing him choose death over recapture was a fitting end for the character, and it served to underline the reasons that each of the men had made their escape from Fox River to begin with.

Stormare managed to portray Abruzzi as respectable, terrifying, and more than a little disgusting all at once with ease, and it's a performance that's not easy to forget.

Even years later, it's hard to think of the name Abruzzi without hearing Stormare's unique accent echoing through the deepest recesses of your memory.
