35. What is Dead May Never Die (Season 2, Episode 3)
This is the episode where Tyrion plays a game of telephone with Grand Maester Pycelle, Littlefinger and Varys regarding his plans for Myrcella Baratheon, in order to sniff out who is a spy for Cersei. That scene unfolded thanks to excellent direction from Alik Sakharov, shifting seamlessly between all three conversations. It ends up being Pycelle, and his downfall is very cathartic, as Tyrion so rarely gets to enjoy seeing somebody shamed in front of him. This episode ends with the death of Yoren, and poor Lommy Greenhands is stabbed in the throat by Polliver with Arya Starks own sword. Also, Theon gets baptized by the Drowned God.
