24. Two Swords (Season 4, Episode 1)

Typically, season openers for Game of Thrones are fairly tame, as they set the scene for the season to come, but €œTwo Swords€ had a lot of scenes to set in the aftermath of the Red Wedding. A lot happens in Kings Landing, including the arrival of Oberyn Martell, the first meeting between Cersei and Jaime Lannister since Jaime€™s capture in Season 1, and Tyrion and Shae getting found out by one of Sansa€™s handmaidens. Elsewhere, Jon avoids being executed by the Night€™s Watch (some good THAT did him), and Dany begins to lose control of her dragons. But the real highlight of €œTwo Swords€ is the ending, where Arya reclaims Needle from Polliver, and stabs him through the throat the same way he did to Lommy in €œWhat is Dead May Never Die.€
