After the shocking series premiere, the Stark family has to deal with the fallout of Brans fall from the tower, including his attempted murder by Lannister guards, which is thwarted by Brans direwolf. This, inevitably, escalates the Stark/Lannister feud. This is also the episode where we first get a true glimpse of Joffreys cruelty, as he tortures poor Mycah, the butchers boy, for fun, and calls Arya a see you next Tuesday when she intervenes on his behalf. At the end of the episode, Mycah is ridden down by The Hound, and Sansas direwolf is killed by Ned for absolutely no reason. Sure, that wont come back to haunt him or anything.
