Elio has really grown into quite the recurring presence on Riverdale over the last year, hasn't he? Unfortunately, he doesn't really have that much, for lack of a better word, presence.
Again, he showed up this week to oversee another one of Archie's fights and, again, he showed that there literally wasn't anything below the surface. It's literally the same story every time he's on screen - have a friendly/flirtatious debate with Veronica that ends badly, agree to some kind of terms, try to outsmart Archie and, finally, pout when it doesn't go his way - and his behaviour in 'Jawbreaker' was absolutely no different.
Elio undoubtedly checks all the show's boxes as far as young, attractive and fashionable characters go, but that doesn't make up for how thinly-written and one-dimensional he is.
