Scream Season 2 Review: 7 Ups & 6 Downs

A solid improvement on a shaky first season.

MTV's Scream certainly got off to a fairly bumpy start with its first season, which received mixed reviews from critics while franchise fanboys expressed disappointment with certain creative aspects of the show.

Well, Scream just wrapped up its second season (and is available in its entirety on Netflix), and while still beholden to many of the issues that plagued the first go-around, it's fair to say the creators have listened to the complaints and reined in certain excesses, creating an on-the-whole more enjoyable experience.

Sure, it's still rough around the edges and the prospect of a third season isn't perhaps as exciting as its creators might hope, but Season 2 did as any show must to survive: it improved upon what came before and deepened the series' mythology in meaningful ways.
