Scream TV Series: Everything You Need To Know

By James Hunt /

5. The Setting

The Scream films are known for taking place in Woodsboro, a small, fictional town in California. However, that won€™t be the case with the TV series. Instead, the events will take place in another fictional town, Lakewood. It€™s said to be an average suburban setting, which means that as usual we€™ll be following the characters around their homes, their high-school and the places they hang-out. It was the setting of a murder that took place 20 years before the series, one a number of people may be connected to, and one that starts to come back in a big way. It makes sense to move the show to a new location, as it helps free it from having to tie into the past events of the franchise and allows it to explore new, if similar ground.
