She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Season 1 - Every Episode Ranked Worst To Best
How do the episodes of Disney+'s latest MCU offering stack up?
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has reached its closing argument, and now is the time to rank each of the show's episodes from worst to best. The reaction to this series has been mixed. Not everyone liked the small legal comedy approach; some fans found it not funny, while others found it too cheesy.
A good way to watch She-Hulk is by looking at it as the modern heir to Adam West’s Batman; a self-aware series that did not take itself too seriously, realizing it was set in a world where people dressed up in their pyjamas to fight crime.
If there is anything close to a universally positive reaction about the show, it is that Tatiana Maslany knocked it out of the park in the title role. While Jennifer Walters would never admit it, all the superhero guests that came from other corners of the Marvel Universe are the ones that elevated this small legal comedy - from Bruce Banner, to Wong, to Daredevil.
On a closer inspection of its worst elements compared to its best, the downs are not too hard a fall, and the ups are worth the climb.
9. Episode 9 - Whose Show Is This?
Jen’s adventure ended on a less-than-positive note. She-Hulk using the Disney+ menu screen to break into Marvel Studios was the extreme fourth wall break fans had been clamouring for from the start. In isolation, it was a fan-pleasing scene, but when connected to the ongoing story, it halted the momentum and never recovered.
It talked about all the flaws of the usual Marvel finales, but it did not have any alternatives - the episode just skipped all the character-building major conflicts and moved on to the epilogue. An epilogue so rushed through and happy that it was hard to take seriously. Jennifer was in the most psychologically vulnerable spot in the first act, then she got her confidence back and the villains were defeated off-screen. Suddenly, Daredevil was back, meeting Jen’s family.
When The Green Giantess barged into Marvel Studios, she had the mission to make the episode less messy, with the implication that she succeeded. So why did it become even harder to follow? The good ending that she promised never happened.
