The Simpsons: 10 Deleted Scenes You Must See

By Chris Smith /

2. Good Ol' Consuela

One of Sideshow Bobs best ever episodes Cape Feare sees him try to murder Bart for the first time. After receiving threatening letters written in the mans own blood no less, The Simpsons call in Chief Wiggum for extra security. Wiggum covers the entire downstairs in string, tied to a squeaky Krusty doll, claiming that Sideshow Bob can't enter without him knowing. That's all we see on TV. What we don't see is Chief Wiggum in action. In this deleted scene Homer wanders downstairs half asleep for a midnight snack. While searching the fridge, Homer notices the vigilant Wiggum sitting at the table eating a Sloppy Joe. "Where'd you get that?" asks Homer. Wiggum replies that the maid "Consuela" made it for him, and gestures to Sideshow Bob right there in the kitchen disguised as a woman. Ever the protective father, Homer simply grabs a drumstick out the fridge and comments "Good ol' Consuela, don't know what we'd do without her." It's a gut busting scene that showcases Bobs ease at pulling off the laziest disguises, and both Homer and Wiggum at their best: blinded from the obvious by gluttony. Only when he goes back to bed does Homer suddenly wake up screaming that they don't have a maid.
