The Simpsons: 10 Throwaway Lines That Would Have Made Great Episodes

By Chris Smith /

10. Lenny And Carl's Third Friend Stevie

In "My Mother the Carjacker" Homer's mother Mona returns and gets to spend some quality time with Homer's family and friends. When he takes her to Moe's Tavern she sees Lenny and Carl and says that she remembers when they were boys. They and a boy named Stevie "were like the Three Musketeers." Before the viewer can even ask who Stevie is, or why we've never met him, Lenny and Carl sadly say "Poor Stevie. They never found his head." Now we don't exactly want to see a child get decapitated, but no one gets beheaded by accident. Perhaps Stevie had enemies? Perhaps he was in the wrong place at the wrong time? It definitely sounds as if he had some adventures and we would have loved to see a young Lenny, Carl and possibly Homer join in on those adventures. And find out just who exactly Stevie angered.
