At some point, The Simpsons got a bit of their mojo back. At the very least, since the show hit its twenties, episode quality has gone back up, in comparison to its troubled teens. It's not quite a second golden era for the show, but it's a welcome improvement. That uplift in quality seemed to coincide with the show going Hi-Def, which happened during season twenty. At that time, it also got an updated intro. It's still at its core the same opening we all know and love, but updated for the widescreen format, and with some slight changes - like Homer being hit and knocked through the door during the garage scene when Marge arrives home. If you've missed it, the new intro has allowed more episode-by-episode changes, as opposed to just the chalkboard writing and couch gag. It took a bit, but the new opening has grown on us all.
