The Simpsons: 20 Awesome Easter Eggs And References

19. Composer Credit

Episode: Various (1990-2009) As if being the man who composed the theme song known around the world wasn€™t good enough, Danny Elfman had his name emblazoned on a prominent storefront in the opening credits of The Simpsons. For nineteen years Elfman€™s name was featured in every opening sequence other than those where the opening is abridged to just show the family entering the drive and Treehouse of Horror episodes. The composer€™s name is the first credit (albeit in Easter Egg form) we are given, coming before Matt Groening€™s credit. All this changed in 2009 in Season 20 when the show implemented a new permanent opening sequence which cut out Danny€™s unidentified store. Since his Easter Egg was cut from the opening the composer has worked on Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and multiple Tim Burton projects so we€™re sure he€™s not too devastated.
