Episode: Various (1990-2009) As if being the man who composed the theme song known around the world wasnt good enough, Danny Elfman had his name emblazoned on a prominent storefront in the opening credits of The Simpsons. For nineteen years Elfmans name was featured in every opening sequence other than those where the opening is abridged to just show the family entering the drive and Treehouse of Horror episodes. The composers name is the first credit (albeit in Easter Egg form) we are given, coming before Matt Groenings credit. All this changed in 2009 in Season 20 when the show implemented a new permanent opening sequence which cut out Dannys unidentified store. Since his Easter Egg was cut from the opening the composer has worked on Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and multiple Tim Burton projects so were sure hes not too devastated.
