19. Vorik

Vorik was the supporting Voyager Vulcan that we never knew we needed. Half the time, he seems so over everything; the other half, he's like a fascinated child learning the mysteries of life.

Surprisingly, Vorik is only in a handful of Voyager episodes, but thanks to the engaging performance from actor Alexander Enberg, it feels like he's in so many more. Of course, that might have something to do with his previous appearance as another very similar-looking Vulcan, Taurik, in The Next Generation episode Lower Decks (an episode we may well revisit on this list).

And we love the suggestion from Voyager producer Jeri Taylor that Vorik and Taurik could be twins. Why not? Apart from now, we want to see the scenes from the Alpha Quadrant with Taurik suppressing his worry over his brother's disappearance, stoic on the surface, but going about his business all tense and highly strung.

Despite being involved in several threads, Vorik is probably best remembered for trying to initiate Pon Farr with B'Elanna Torres, not the best choice given the thrashing he received in return. However, his continued interest in her makes us wonder if there's a little Vulcan crush going on under that aloof exterior.

All in all, we would definitely have liked more room for Vorik, or even Taurik...or both.
