8. Time Is A Fire...

Fitting the previously mentioned theme of time that pervades this trailer, the teaser opens with a close-up shot of Picard's clock.

The clock made its first appearance in Star Trek: Picard season one, placed above the mantlepiece in the study at Château Picard, later recreated in the holographic stateroom aboard the La Sirena and in the virtual environment which Data inhabited in the season finale, "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2".

Also keeping on theme, an hourglass features later on in the trailer, showing sand (and presumably time) moving in reverse. This imagery, coupled with the "true final frontier is time" narration, hints heavily at a time travel storyline for Star Trek: Picard season two, which Patrick Stewart referenced during the Star Trek First Contact Day panel:

I wish I could sit here and blurt out to you all the new storylines and situations and TIMES that you're going to be seeing in this second season. Despite 178 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation... and four feature films, there are events coming up in season two that have never been seen before.
