In theory, The Search is a three-, not a two-, parter, because, in practice, the Jem'Hadar don't like campers. In reality, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's second season finale was relatively self-contained. Its conclusion did come with an ominous warning, the response to which was decloaked in the opener to The Search, Part I.

If you go looking for trouble, you'll probably find it in the Omarion Nebula. Though, to put it in playground terms, the Dominion and its Founders, well, they started it! Big reveal: Odo's people and the overlords of the Gamma Quadrant were one and the same. You had to wait until practically the end of Part II to find that out. Until then, "Welcome home!"
