According to Nicholas Meyer - the man who wrote Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek: The Voyage Home and Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country - he's working on another secret Star Trek project that should delight fans.

Meyer, who came out of retirement last year to write Discovery spoke to TrekMovie for the 35th anniversary of Wrath Of Khan to tease the project's existence...

“One thing that has nothing to do with Discovery is that I am working on another Star Trek project, but I can’t discuss that either."

So what does that mean, exactly?

Is there to be another TV show separate from Discovery? Or is Meyer teasing the fact that he's working on the fourth movie in JJ Abrams' Kelvin-verse? Perhaps there could be another movie release altogether? Surely there has to be room for a final Next Generation movie?

At this stage, Meyer is keeping schtum on further details, despite enigmatic hints:

TrekMovie: Are we talking more feature film because as far as I know, there is only one television project, I assume.

Meyer: You can assume.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see how Star Trek Discovery delivers when it's released in the Autumn.
