Aboard Oh's warbird, she's ready to wipe out the synths and orders Planetary Sterilization Pattern Number 5. This inevitably raises the question how many planetary sterilization patterns do the Romulans really need? And also how many planets have the Romulans been going around sterilizing anyway?

It's stated here, by the way, that Commodore Oh's true name is General Nedar. Once again addressing all of our little nitpicks, Michael Chabon has said on his Instagram that Nedar's alias alludes to the Vulcan word "ohkuh", or "eight". This is (obviously) a reference to the Conclave of Eight first mentioned in "Stardust City Rag" and the Eightfold Stars revealed in "Broken Pieces".

Addressing Oh's half-Vulcan, half-Romulan lineage, Chabon has said her parents were "re-unificationists", a group seen in TNG's "Unification I and II".
