The aforementioned dream sequence sees Picard and Data playing a friendly game of cards, which is a clear nod to the very last scene of The Next Generation's series finale "All Good Things...," where Picard finally joins the senior staff for a game of poker.

Quite poetically, this was also the final scene shot during production, and dovetails neatly into the opening scene of Picard, which while ultimately a dream, nevertheless indicates that Picard's habit has indeed stuck.

In pure visual terms, though, it's a neat callback for longtime fans.
