Star Wars: 10 Things In Disney+'s Obi-Wan Kenobi That Make No Sense
10. Somehow, The Stormtroopers Are Less Competent Than Ever
The Stormtroopers' incompetence have been a running joke since Star Wars premiered. Their marksmanship skills are so bad, it would be out of character if they actually hit something. So, every time we watch a new Star Wars property, we're expecting the Stormtroopers to be bumbling grunts.
But in Obi-Wan Kenobi, these bucket-heads aren't just inept, they're idiots. In Episode V, hundreds of these soldiers corner half a dozen Path members, and yet, fail to shoot anyone unless they are two feet away.
As silly as that moment is, Episode IV might have the dumbest Stormtrooper moment ever. After Reva suspects Imperial officer Tala is a double agent, she has two of her white-armoured footmen take her away.
Luckily, Tala grabs one of the Stormtrooper's weapons and blasts them. How did she get a hold of it? She stunned the Stormtroopers... by slapping them.
What are these helmets made of? Paper? You wouldn't feel a slap if you were wearing a sports helmet, and yet it was enough to leave these Stormtroopers utterly dazed. Even though this was meant to be a badass moment for Tala, it made the Imperial forces (and Star Wars in general) look ridiculous.
