Stranger Things 3 Trailer Breakdown: 13 Things You Need To See

10. A VERY '80s Summer

One of the biggest takeaways from this trailer is that the Duffer Bros. have gone and fully embraced the '80s summer aesthetic for this season.

Whereas seasons 1 and 2 were both set during the later months, season 3 is taking great strides to differentiate itself and allow the characters to have some fun-in-the-sun in the process. We get glimpses of Billy as a lifeguard at the local public swimming pool that look like they could be straight out of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Eleven and Max are hanging out in a bedroom, dancing around to music, as Eleven sports the most 1980s jumper imaginable. The whole gang of kids is out setting up a make-shift electrical pole of some kind just for the fun of it.

In other words, after two seasons of winter-set misery, this season looks to finally be giving these character a bit of a well-deserved break. They've been through so many life-threatening situations in such a short amount of time, its truly wonderful to see them just enjoying each other's company again, regardless of how brief it may actually be.
