Given that a year has passed since the first season, and we're only just getting started, you'd be forgiven for thinking the show would gradually reintroduce the Upside Down.

Not so. We're not even 10 minutes into the new season when Will has his first vision, seeing the world gone to hell and a flickering hint of the Shadow Monster that's coming for Hawkins. It's a hell of a start, and really sets the tone proper for Stranger Things 2 after the cold open.
